When EGGSTA released “BAE” in August 2021, she had no idea the single would flourish as well as it has in her home country after years abroad. Currently receiving rave reviews and support across South Africa, including a top 10 chart position on KZN’s Hit Music Radio Station ECR. Not forgetting her performances on live television and gigs across the country. This acoustic version is set to attract an entirely new audience for EGGSTA, showcasing another side to her multi-dynamic talent as a songwriter, music producer, and recording artist.

The acoustic version of “BAE” is the natural next step in EGGSTA’s single releases as the single was originally written with the intention of it being an acoustic track before it was developed and produced into an electronic dance record. EGGSTA decided to strip down “BAE” to give her listeners an extended lifetime with the song they love, get to know her and Lee Cole more intimately, and honour the song’s success so far. EGGSTA has the intention to do as many acoustic versions of her releases as possible, to show a different side to her by incorporating her classically trained roots. Bringing it back to the musical instruments that she sits and writes with before they become massive EDM-produced songs.

EGGSTA elaborates on her intention behind the music video’s concept: “I decided to do this music video for the acoustic version of “BAE” in Lee Cole’s home, to simulate the experience I had doing a Sofar Sounds performance tour across Europe and America. There is this great sense of closeness formed in the setting. I feel this video creates a sense of intimacy for viewers to feel as though they are sitting with Lee and me, at home. To get a closer look and feel to who we are as people and musicians, stripping away the EDM.”

This release comes ahead of the 30 singles EGGSTA has in-store for her fans listening pleasure over the months to come, that she wrote, produced and recorded throughout lockdown in 2020.
