According to ECR NewsWatch, Members of Parliament (MP) voted to back a report by the Section 194 Committee that recommended her removal as Public Protector due to misconduct and incompetence.

The votes came from a majority of 318 MPs who voted in favour of the motion, while 43 MPs voted against it. One abstained.

If you remember, Mkhwebane was suspended by President Cyril Ramaphosa back in 2021 shortly after she started probing the Phala Phala matter.

In comes Marius Van Der Walt, who is the East Coast Radio Newswatch Editor in Chief, to help.
